Description
This is a simple Quadcopter. Just something I threw together this long President's Day weekend (2/18/2019).
I used to build balsa airplanes and have flown RC aircraft and other RC vehicles for quite a while in my youth.
Now that I am an old fart and am in a bout of nostalgia, I have gone back to scratch building RC aircraft, mostly unsuccessful :-), but every project is fun and a learning experience.
So, inspired by stick build aircraft I figured I'd build a lightweight 3D-printed 300 class drone from scratch. The result is JAQUES.
The design is super simplistic for easy printing. Assemble is a bit tricky since everything is to be just butt glued and placement of the parts is freehand. I have no assembly instructions. Get yourself inspired by the few build photos I took. There is also some pictures of the finished product. I have no flight video but, trust me, the thing flies like a charm!
The quad flies really well and is very docile. Great for just dinking-around in the back yard.
There is room on the deck for some FPV stuff, but I'm old school and just fly line of sight.
Apart from all the 3D-printed items you will need a flight controller, ESC(s), Motors, props, battery, super glue, nylon standoffs and other small stuff.
