Summary

For whatever reason, and I really can\'t think of one, my heated platform is not parallel to the platform nor the Z stage. This is not only my answer to that problem, but my first design in SketchUp, and my first 3D render ever.

Instructions

It needs work, absolutely. Ideally I'd like to have a nut captured in there instead, but dimensions are tight... perhaps in next iteration. The biggest issue is that the spare standard M3 screws are just barely too short, so you may have to shop for something longer.

The idea is that the thinner substrate has a wider hole to permit pass-through of the screw. The bottom end (thicker section) will be very tight, so just work the screw threads into it, but with love. I\'m going screw shopping after this for something better suited; as I said, the screws are just barely too short (20mm).

*Update: Went to my fantastic hardware store today (buy local!), got an assortment of M3 screws. As installed, four clips printed on opposite corners, fat-side down. May want to pre-thread the clips before you install them to make it a little easier to catch, but also might misalign during actual threading. Also used some tapered-head machine screws instead of knurled M3, 20mm in length.
Under each platform is a nylon lock-nut, tightened just enough to permit the screws to rotate in place but not allow vertical play. I measured the corners from the base of the Cupcake platform, and then went back through and made sure the nozzle was at approximately equal height throughout the print surface. Make adjustments accordingly. Seems to work nicely! Very pleased, will report back after prolonged use.
