Celtic Trinity Knot

February 26, 2019
Description
These earrings are in the shape of the Celtic Trinity Knot, also called the Triquetra. It is said to have had several meanings over the centuries. Most commonly it is said to represent the Holy Trinity, with or without the interwoven ring. The ring is said to represent never ending love, among other things. Most people just think it's a cool design.
I printed it here with two different plastics, one opaque and one translucent. The opaque one shows off the interwoven appearance of the design better. But the translucent one is a UV reactive PLA that shines bright in sunlight or a blacklight.
The model was optimized for printing with a 0.6mm nozzle, but a 0.3 or 0.4 would work just as good. You might be interested in some of my other designs. Click here to view my Earring Collection. This Trinity Know earring was printed in PLA at 200C and the printbed heated to 65C.

To make earrings, you might want to get a jewelry making kit like this one is a very good deal.
Jewelry Making Kit:
You can also buy in bulk sterling silver blank fish hook wire earrings like these.
It is very easy to make your own if you have an earring wire bender like this one.
I use this 20 gauge sterling silver jewelry wire to make your own.
You will want to get some nylon jawed pliers so you don't scratch or flatten your jewelry wire.
