M17 Gas Mask Adapter Set

I decided that with everything going on, that I needed to revamp this thing.

What I have here is a printable kit that allows you to adapt certain gas masks to work with 40mm canisters. You can use one or two cans, depending on your preferences. I'm showing it as a single canister setup. You have 4 pieces: the 40mm adapter, a plug, and two inner adapters. The inner adapters replace the valves that come with the mask. You NEED TO TRANSFER the rubber flapper from the original valve to this using a 3mm screw to hold it in place! That's what the hole in the center is for.

If you want the two can setup, simply print two adapters and two inner adapters.

To assembly, you screw the plug and 40mm adapter into the inner adapter through the filter holes in the mask. I recommend you use a VERY thin coat of petroleum jelly to lubricate the rubber so it doesn't wrinkle and you're able to compress the rubber down tight for a good seal.

I did update the models as well, improving the thread design so all the pieces fit nice and tight.

Now, with that being said, I'm also working on redoing the dust filter adapters as well. Check out what the CDC says on those filters. You may want to use those adapters instead.
