Description
This thing was made with Tinkercad.
Update, I just replaced the stl file with one that has a lower facet count and fixed manifolds. please download the new file if you downloaded the previous file.
This model is my own design for an alternative Star Wars Electronic Binocular kit. It is a minocular based on my Micro-Electro-Binocular that you can find here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2765967
All of the greebles are static. When constructed, this model is 66.25mm wide, 150.50mm from front to back, and 82.55mm tall. The front (objective lens) is designed so that you can add a piece of acrylic or glass before glueing it in place. The shaft is 25.5mm so you will need to subtract the width of your lens from the shaft before assembly. The ocular lens is simply a recessed square cutout (36mm x 22mm) so that you can add a backlit screen. The inside is hollow and there are front and back end caps screw points, so you can add a battery and simply unscrew one end to change out the battery. I have not built this model yet so there may be a fair amount of sanding that may be needed to get all the parts to fit together properly. I recommend using Velcro inside to hold the battery in place. I have not made holes for the switches giving you the option to place them for thumb or fore finger activation.
There is a 3mm hole in the objective end cap for a 3mm LED and there is a rectangle hole on the endcap for the addition of a 10 LED segment bar. I plan on using the Hypnotic Bar Kit from Chaney Electronics, you can find it here: https://www.electronickitsbychaneyelectronics.com/prodinfo.asp?number=C6772
Feel free to tinker with the model and come up with your own ideas. NOTE- I did not make lanyard loops on the model; however, I you can use two small D-ring picture hangers at any of the screw points add a leather lanyard. Share, print, and tinker as you wish and enjoy. Once I build this model, I will update this thing with pictures.
