Description
I was looking for a good printbed for my 3Dtje mini printer and came across mirror glass tiles. I found them pretty cheap at ebay with the perfect dimensions of 100x100x3mm for my printer. Just print the "3Dtje_Tisch_Halterung_v3_merged.stl" and assemble the 3Dtje like you would normally. You can access the glass tile from both sides with the little gap in the border. The other files are only needed if you want to modify any settings. I suggest printing it with the plate facing down and use lots of support, this side will be below the glass plate and not be visible anyway...
I merged the holder with the y axis base to maximize the available height for the z axis. Bed leveling is not needed for this small bed size, you can adjust the z height with the screw in the x axis and level out both sides by manually turning the z motors until the hotend is level towards the plate. No need for wheels or any other leveling for this tiny plate. I'm currently able to use a print volume of 92x92x78mm with my 3Dtje. (See pictures)
If your tile doesn't fit the holder try to adjust the tolerances in the scad file. My glass tile was slightly too low for my hotend to reach (x axis bumped into the z couplers) so I had to attach some rubber / foam to the bottom to raise it up 2 mm.
Happy printing!
