Description

This is a Strumtiger Dice Tower, or Panzersturmmörser. It works fairly well for 16mm dice. If you just want to use it for 12mm dice (standard wargame dice), you could print it at 80% size. For 17mm dice I would print it at 105%.

V3.10 has a low deck so you can see the results from the other side of the gaming table, of course it looks a little odd with the low engine wall. The old version (V2) has a high engine deck wall and makes a better model overall.

This is based on the excellent 1:200 Strumtiger of m_bergman. I have also included a Roof Plate and Engine Deck. Why you ask? Well, when you don't want a dice tower, but just a Strumtiger model, put the Roof Plate and Engine Deck on. The first image shows a 3/4 print with the these in place and a full size print with these just to the right.

For the current model, set you support overhang angle to 65 degrees or higher. There will be a thin wall of supports at the exit of the dice path that are easily removed. If your support overhang angle is much less than 65 degrees, will find you longish print filled to the brim with supports that are very difficult to remove. When I do that by mistake I just put on the Roof Plate and Engine Deck and say I meant to print it as a model, not a dice tower. :) I now have about 15 Strumtiger models that way :(.

The six Strumtiger image shows some of these and other working prototypes.

Developed on the M3D promega.

3/14/2019 - The Engine Deck Plate was a really tight fit, some I trimmed it a little on two sides.

3/30/2019 - Revised the dice path so it prints much cleaner with no supports. You still need supports on other areas of the model. I also made some minor changes to the engine deck and roof plates.

6/9/2019 - Added a low deck version so you can see the results from across the table.

5/18/2021 - Re Engineered the dice path for easier printing and renamed the files to avoid confusion.
