Description

I designed this object in order to realize a simple support for an antenna Ground Plane with a stylus and four radials oriented at an angle of 45° (very important the angle precision in order to reach the right impedence)

The main support is able to handle a PL 259 Vhf/Uhf connector where are soldered four radials.

Another stylus is connected to the central pin.

If you plan to use it indoor this is sufficient, but in case of outdoor use I added a cover protection from the rain and a pole support.

Attached you'll find the Openscad sources where you can customize every single misure, actually the measures are for a 403 Mhz GP (meteorological balloon reception) with stylus made with brass bar 3mm diameter.

Using this simple antenna, I am able to receive balloons telemetry in a range of 400 chilometers.

You can use this link to calculate stylus and radials lenght for any desired frequency : https://m0ukd.com/calculators/quarter-wave-ground-plane-antenna-calculator/
