IKEA Jansjö hack lampshade / Tulipa para IKEA Jansjo

In the tireless search for new geometric shapes related to light, I decided to adapt two existing designs at Thingiverse to create a charming tulip for the IKEA Jansjö lamp model.

This is the first lamp that I present on my site, I hope you like it.

The designs on which I relied were the following:

The first thing was to adapt the size of the lamp shade to my Jansjo, since the original design is designed to be hung from the ceiling and is too large for this small desk light. Its final dimensions are 95 cm high by 100 cm wide. For this I used Tinkercad, the free online design tool of Autodesk.

Later I created a gcode with Cura to print it in translucent PLA on my 3D printer, a Prusa i3.

Modifying the adapter was more complicated because I did not know exactly what design would work, so I did several tests. The definitive one is printed with flexible filament to allow its correct placement, since with rigid filament there is more probability of breaking and that the tulip does not adjust correctly.

Once we have successfully printed the two parts, we will have to mount them together with the original Jansjö lamp. For this it will be necessary to first pass the arm of the Jansjö through the tulip and leave it on hold. Next we will adjust the flexible adapter to the head of the Jansjö and with the tulip we make the gesture of trying to remove it from the arm of the Jansjö. Being the adapter will not be possible and the two pieces will be fitted and fastened to the head of the lamp (I do not have photos of this phase but I will try to upload them so that it is better understood).

If you want the lamp shade to have more than one color you must add the M600 command sequence in the gcode, before the line of text that indicates the beginning of the layer in which you want to change the filament, everytime you want! Enjoy it!

En la búsqueda incansable de nuevas formas geométricas relacionadas con la luz decidí adaptar dos diseños existentes en www.thingiverse.com para fabricar una tulipa con encanto para el modelo de lámpara Jansjö de IKEA.

Lo primero fue adaptar el tamaño de la tulipa de la lámpara a mi Jansjo, ya que el diseño original está pensado para ser colgada del techo y es demasiado grande para esta pequeña luz de escritorio. Sus dimensiones finales son de 95 cm de altura por 100 cm aprox de anchura. Para ello utilicé Tinkercad, la herramienta de diseño online gratuita de Autodesk.

Posteriormente generé un gcode con Cura para imprimirlo en PLA transparente en mi impresora 3D, una Prusa i3.

Modificar el adaptador fue más complicado porque no sabía exactamente qué diseño iba a funcionar, así que hice varias pruebas. La definitiva está impresa con filamento flexible para permitir su correcta colocación, ya que con filamento rígido hay más probabilidad de rotura y de que la tulipa no ajuste correctamente.

Una vez que hemos conseguido imprimir correctamente las dos partes deberemos montarlas junto a la lámpara Jansjö original. Para ello será necesario pasar primero el brazo de la Jansjö por la tulipa y dejarla en espera. A continuación ajustaremos el adaptador flexible a la cabeza de la Jansjö y con la tulipa hacemos el gesto de intentar sacarla del brazo de la Jansjö. Al estar el adaptador no se podrá y quedarán las dos piezas encajadas y sujetas en la cabeza de la lámpara (de esta fase no tengo fotos pero intentaré subirlas para que se entienda mejor).

Si quieres que la tulipa de tu lámpara tenga más de un color debes añadir la secuencia de comando M600 en el gcode, antes de la línea de texto que indique el comienzo de la capa en la que quieres cambiar el filamento. ¡Disfrutadlo!
