Description
**Please note the orientation of the blue fan duct in the pictures as this design is based around this orientation.
This is a fan duct compatible with an E3D V6 clone hotend. The measurements of this hotend appear to match that of the genuine E3D V6, so I expect this fan duct with be compatible with the genuine hotend as well. this fan duct is designed for use with the Monoprice Select mini V2. It uses the MPSM's original 30mm fan as the part cooling fan, and uses a single 30mm fan as the hotend cooling fan (running off of a 12v power supply). Alternatively, the power wires within the base of the MPSM can be cut and spliced to power the hotend-cooling fan directly with 12v whenever the 3D printer is turned on.
This design requires:
1xm3x20 machine screw (socket head, button head, or pan head screws will work)
Hex key compatible with your m3 machine screw
1xm3 hex nut (A small pair of needle nose pliers is recommended to hold this nut while the screw is tightened
Soldering Iron
Solder
Recommended: 1x small switch (to control when the hotend-cooling fan is turned on/off)
Optional: 1x12v DC power supply
Optional: 1x 2-pin male dupont connector (or similar 2.54mm/0.1" 2-pin male connector) to connect the hotend-cooling fan to the 12v wires
The fan mount that I used is the "Aperture" fan grill cover by mightnozzle: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2802474
I have included some minor variations in the design: An open version without the Aperture grill; and a "Low Profile" version that only mounts to the bottom two screws on the hotend-cooling fan
