Description
Modification to replace the original Z axis design with a triple leadscrew design, allowing auto tramming and true auto compensation.
This is an involved modification that requires good workmanship and accuracy if you want to gain all the advantages of a triple leadscrew design Z axis.
See the PDF for detailed instructions.
This requires a well tuned printer. There are images showing the best part orientation for printing. Everything prints without support, except where noted below.
Print the following with 1mm walls and 20% infill in the material of your choice:
2 - FrontRailTemplate
2 - 15x15to12Template
1 - StepperMountTemplate
1 - RearStepperMountTemplate
Print the following with 2.5mm walls and 70% infill in PETG, ABS, PETG with carbon fiber. PRINT the Platform_Mounts with support (both versions):
2 - Z_Platform_Mount
1 - Z_Platform_Mount_Rear
NOTE: I have removed the bearing mounts from the assembly, these cause more issues then they solve - so they're gone.
Print the following with 2mm walls and 20% infill in your material of choice:
4 - Foot
If you're using an optical endstop for the Z axis, print the following with 1.5mm walls, 20% infill, with support:
1 - Z Axis Optical Stop Housing
1 - Z Axis Optical Flag
Good Luck!
Let me know if it makes your printer better. I'll try to help you through tough spots - but I do have a day job, so help may be delayed sometimes.
Regards.
