Description

An updated and improved version of my previous Simple badge holder

Just a simple badge holder, nothing more than a smooth edge around your badge. Cards easily slide in from either side and are tightly snapped in place. Model needs supports to print the overhangs that keep the badge in place.

May 26, 2019 - Initial upload
Apr. 25, 2020 - Added model with centered circular hole

###Changes

  • Increased thickness for higher durability
  • Slightly lower tolerances for a tighter fit
  • Added overhangs on the sides to prevent cards from accidentally sliding out

With these changes cards are held significantly more secure, however with this increased tightness frequent removal might damage the card!

###Support settings
To print the overhangs, I recommend printing high-density supports with increased horizontal expansion. These will easily snap away without damaging the bottom layer. I use the following support settings in Cura:

Placement: Everywhere
Pattern: Triangles
Density: 60%
Z Distance: 0.15mm
X/Y Distance: 0.7mm
Horizontal expansion: 3mm

Resulting supports can be seen in the included pictures.
