The "Time Bomb" Safety Wearable

This is my entry for the Autodesk Fusion 360 Challenge. I wanted to tackle the wearable challenge as I felt it would relate the most to me since I walk home from school occasionally and would appreciate a device like this one.

The "Time Bomb" is a wearable that has watch functionality, but its main goal is to at a moments notice, be able to contact emergency services. I aimed to create a device which could quickly, easily, and subtlety contact emergency services. It should integrate into your life easily as well as be simple to use when the time requires.

To use the device, all you have to do is press down the watch face. It depresses into the body about 2mm and it is now activated. It will quietly vibrate for 10 seconds (So you can know it is activated, but no one else) and then if the watch face is not deactivated, it sends an automated call to 911 explaining your name, GPS location, and that you have called for help. In order to stay discrete, no noise is made and nothing changes on the watch face as to not alert your aggressor. In case of accidental activation, the device has a 10 second prime period to let you simply press the face down again and have it pop back into place and not call 911.

I wanted the wearable to have a purpose besides an emergency response calling device, since you would hopefully never need to use that anyways, so I incorporated a simple watch. A series of 12 surface mount LED's are placed evenly around the center to make a watch face. The hour hand LED is solid color, while the minute hand blinks slowly. It is accurate to the 5 minute this way.

It uses a magnetic touch contact charge system and I anticipate that since it has a very basic interface and only accesses your location when you pres the button, that it will not need nightly charging, maybe once a week even!

The name comes from the fact that when you pres down on the watch face it activates a 10 second timer, hence the name "Time Bomb" :)
