Description
Direct drive assembly for Titan or equivalent extruder using the stock Anycubic carriage plate. I used the TriGorilla here which I believe is what comes stock on the Mega S. There are many Titan clones available like this one which I do not have direct experience with and cannot recommend. You can also go with the original E3D Titan which is probably the ethical thing to do.
The Titan works with the E3D V6 or equivalent hotend. I used the Trianglelab version here which has been rock solid.
The part cooler is a slight remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2815388 which is a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2765158.
The belt holder is a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2838383 made to mount directly to the i3 Mega carriage plate.
Design uses the standard micro fan that comes with the V6 hotend mounted facing forward on the heatsink.
Parts List
V6 Volcano Hotend
Jaysuz just posted a remix of the part cooler that allows for vertical height adjustment. Haven't tested, but looks like this will enable support for the V6 Volcano hotend which is slightly longer than the standard V6.
Notes
When printing the part cooler, make sure supports are only used on the outside of the part and not the inside which will likely happen when auto generating supports (S3D will do this).
A primary objective of this design was to retain the same printable area as stock, but you will need to modify your "Home" offset for the Y axis approximately 10mm to accommodate the new nozzle location. This can easily be done in the EEPROM using the M206 or the M428 commands.
Remix
There have been lots of requests for a BL Touch to be added. Feel free to remix and please leave a comment if you do improve on this design.
