This item has been updated. Check out the Bulldog Clip Extruder R2 here:
This extruder uses a bulldog clip as a spring.
Work In Progress! Please feedback!
Compatibility:
Jhead mount, Bowden
(Please email me at [email protected] if you would like to request for me to make this compatible for your system.)
I designed this with a few things in mind:
- it should be easy to print and build (uses only 6 screws, a 623 bearing, and a 3/4" bulldog clip, each of which are easily obtainable)
- it should be durable (my previous design, the rubberband extruder, required occasional replacement of rubberbands. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:206211 )
- it should have a guide from below the drive gear to support the use of flexible filaments.
- should be easy to maintain (it features an open design which reduces the need to disaassemble the for most maintenance issues. However should you require to disassemble it, you only need to remove a maximum of 6 screws)
- it should make loading and unloading of filament to be easy (press to release the idler bearing, insert filament from the top.)
Parts required:
- 4 M3X25 screws
- 2 M4 screws to mount the extruder to your X carriage
- a Mk8 or Mk7 drive gear, easily obtainable on Ebay or Aliexpress. use the files accordingly depending on which extruder you choose.
- a 623 bearing, easily available on Ebay or Aliexpress.
- a 3/4" bulldog clip.
