Description
There are several very nice Pi 4 cases appearing on Thingiverse. This is not one of them.
I was curious how much active cooling affected the Pi 4 temps so I made this quick and dirty cooling fan bracket to find out. This fits onto the top of the official Raspberry Pi 4 case.
I made this for a 30mm 'cause that's what I had. I don't recall where I purchased this fan. The label says Sheng Feng 5v @ 0.19a. I dunno what the flow rate is.
Th ambient temp was 24.9º. The Pi had no heat sink.
I logged the CPU temp at four stages. (1) no fan at idle, (2) no fan under load, (3) with fan at idle, (4) with fan under load.
I've included a graph which shows my findings that a fan does indeed cool your Pi. </humor> In my case it lowered the temperature by about 17º under load.
If your Pi 4b is hitting it's thermal barrier toss this handy bracket on it to keep things cool while you print a proper case with a fan.
