The previous versions worked fine, but I wasn't completely happy with everything about them. Primarily, the handles (rollbars?) were too small, got in the way of the USB ports, were restrictive in terms of power cable access and the general orientation of everything.
On the plus side, the handles were probably better suited for small hands than this one - if it is going to be used as a handheld device (probably not, there's no accommodation for battery).
This one has ample room for cables of really any orientation, clear access to USB ports, and room for cords to exit below the screen when it is sitting on a flat surface.
It also has a box around the Pi unit, for a little extra protection.
And that box around the Pi has a lid with an option accommodation for a 40mm fan.
There is also a (pretty much just cosmetic) cover for the back center of the screen (pictured in red in the photos) - which is optional too. It is retained by sandwiching between the box and the screen. It has ample room for straight or 90 degree power cable for the screen.
Included is a variant of the skidplate box for Pi 4. As I don't have a Pi 4 yet, I went off of some, possibly incorrect, dimensions I found online. And I went wide with the holes to hopefully cover all the bases.
If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll try it again.
And if anybody wants any minor changes made to any of the parts - like holes for different sizes of fans, again let me know and I will try to accommodate.
Necessary Hardware
4x 3mm screws 6-8mm long - for attaching the left and right base and the skidplate to the back of the screen - use supplied washers if your screws are too long.
2-4x 3mm screws 4-8mm long for attaching the lid to the box. These are kind of tricky because 6mm or 8mm long screws will work in two of the holes (SD card end), but they need to be shorter around the USB and Ethernet ports. I've only been using the two longer screws and the lid is perfectly secure. But there are 2 more holes if you want to use them.
And 2-4 more 3mm screws, long enough to attach whatever fan, if you choose to use a fan (I did this as future proofing or the possibility of using the screen with the Pi4 - we'll see how all of that pans out.
The last photograph - with the green T handle in the upper lefthand corner - shows the optimal orientation for each part for support-free printing. There are some short bridges here and there, but nothing that can't print without support on my Ender 3.
