Russian Merchant Cruiser Ural

The Armed Merchant Cruiser Ural fought at Tsushima, however as a merchant ship with some guns bolted on it was a bit outclassed by the Japanese vessels it came up against.

I have scaled this model to 1:5000 to match Marcusmoles fleet (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2846858). I have also included a model scaled at 1:3000.

This is a ship with an 'interesting' history!

It began life as a trans-atlantic liner before suffering a propeller accident. It then suffered an even worse fate by becoming the subject of a poem by the truly dreadful poet McGonagall. After which becoming a 'warship', being traded between navies and ending up in the Far East seem mild by comparison.

I did manage to find a photograph of this ship in Janes 1905, I have based the model on this photograph.
