This is a re-creation of the stock hotend fan shroud on the Creality CR10s PRO.
I found the stock 40x10mm 24v hotend fan is pretty loud, but replacing this with a 12v Noctua 40x10mm fan may not provide enough airflow.
I wanted to use a Noctua 40x20mm 12v fan instead to provide maximum airflow whilst reducing the noise.
This "thing" is a recreation of the stock hotend fan shroud with some additional structures to make the whole thing sturdy enough and allow for the extra fan height.
I used 4 M3x3 brass insert nuts (melted them in) in the right side to fasten the stock parts blower fan
Aliexpress.
To allow the 12 volt fan to connect to the 24v power line of the printer I added a Buck converter to convert from 24v to 12v
Amazon.de and made the connection to the printer using a JST connector.
There are 4 different STL's included:
- CR10s Pro Fan Shroud Stock - Recreation of stock fan shroud
- CR10s Pro Fan Shroud extended - Extended shroud for 40x20mm fan
- CR10s Pro Fan Shroud extended_Noctua Design - Extended shroud with "Noctua-like" fan guard.
- CR10s-PRO text - Text to glue to the fan shroud (optional)
I added the source f3d files for Fusion360 and generic step files, so feel free to change anything you want using the sources.
I have been printing PETG for 20+ hours after swapping the fan and everything seems fine. No clogs or other temperature issues in the hotend.
EDIT 28/08/2019: As Thingiverse website seems unable to render STL files (global issue) I added renderings from Fusion360.
