Description

When I designed this Arduino & breadboard prototyping base, I wanted it to:

  • Securely hold an Arduino Uno,
  • Be large enough to hold an 830 tie point breadboard, and
  • Have a useful parts tray, large enough to hold parts for a project.

I'm pleased to say this accomplishes all three. It has four pylons to mount the Uno; two with pins, and two with screw holes. It's designed to accommodate M3 screws.

It's got a full-width platform for an 830 tie point breadboard (just peel the backing from its adhesive and stick it into place) and the parts tray is also full-width. Also, the parts tray has radiused edges, so you'll be able to easily get small components out of it by sliding them to an edge, and up the side. You won't have to worry about resistors getting stuck in the corners!

There are three versions of this base.

The first has a solid base; the second has a hexagonal grid below the Uno and the breadboard, to use less material; and the third has large cutouts to use even less material. On the third one, be aware that large portions of the sticky underside of your peel-and-stick breadboard will be exposed. You can mark where the cutouts are, and only remove the backing from the adhesive where it contacts the base.

I made this to use in a new video series on my YouTube channel, in which I'm covering all the lessons in the Elegoo Super Starter Kit for Uno [Affiliate link].

The first video is here, and I'd be super happy if you wanted to follow along with the lessons! Thanks in advance for watching and subscribing!
