Description

This is a replacement hose adapter for the one that comes with the Craftsman Wet/Dry Vac Replacement Hose. But this will work with any brand of shop vac that uses a 2 1/2" hose. The adapter part goes from 2.5 inches to 1.25 inches. If you would like to buy this hose and adapter, you can get it on Amazon here. Most power saws in the US have places to attach a 1.25" shop vac hose to keep the sawdust mess to a minimum. This is the weakest part and breaks. Even though mine lasted several years, it eventually failed. They designed it with a sharp 90 degree angle where the small cylinder meets the larger cylinder. I redesigned it with a 7mm fillet where the two meet, inside and out which makes it several times stronger, even though it is 3D printed. I printed it with a 0.6mm nozzle and a 0.2mm layer height, but it was designed to be optimally printed with a 1.0mm nozzle. I would suggest using the same 0.2mm layer height for strength, regardless of the size nozzle. You want to maximize your layer adhesion for a part like this that will be stressed. Also, print at a high temperature, around 200-210. You will have to slow your print speed down to make sure that the layers are solidified before the next layer is printed to keep it from coming out looking melted. The center hole does not go all the way through where it changes from 2.5" to 1.25". This was done on purpose to make the bridging easier for the printer. You will have to cut out that one layer (0.2mm) at that transition layer. You should print with a 3-4mm brim since it has a very small printbed footprint.
