Description

I loved the clean design of the source (Ubiquiti UAP-AC-Pro Horizontal Wall Mount), but I had a few design goals in mind:

  • Enable use of stock self-tapping screws included with AP to attach the AP's mounting ring
  • Reduce high-angle overhangs for easier printing
  • Use less filament without loss of strength: @ 30% infill, this design uses 56.5 g of filament, vs. 108.5 g for the source design, yet it is solid as a rock. When printing a lot of these, it makes a difference in cost!
  • Prioritize functionality over aesthetics: I'm using these under floor joists where they won't be seen, so the fact that they're way uglier than the source design is OK :-)

The screw layout is really designed to accommodate an "upside down" mounting arrangement. I made this compromise to save on filament, though you could likely mount it "right side up" (with one screw on top) and it would still hold as these APs are pretty light.
