I made a couple of
Velleman Christmas tree kits, but wanted to power them with a power adapter instead of the 9V battery it's designed to use. The tree only draws between 5-8 mA, and a 9V battery should last around 60 hours, but I wanted the constant voltage from an adapter, and 9V batteries aren't exactly cheap.
This is a stand that will display the tree, and has a spot for a 9V battery clip and DC input connector. I used a 9V clip with the flexible plastic cover, which I removed. The DC input connector was a standard 5.5 x 2.1 mm jack. The 9V clip is secured to the stand with cyanoacrylate glue.
