Description

Behold the mighty MarmoPod: a canopy for your busted Armattan Marmotte bottom plate. Here's its maiden flight: https://youtu.be/LRtGXdeOsqY

Print in TPU with 2 perimeters and about 15-20% 3D infill (I prefer Gyroid). With supports, obviously. Top and bottom: 8 layers each. 0.2-0.3mm layer height. It's a long print and the result weighs about 20g.

"But why?"

  • because I have a busted Marmotte bottom plate that is still somewhat usable
  • I need a backup racer
  • and because this is fun, in a nerdy way

Important: Flying the frame like this voids your Armattan warranty! Yes, I checked. Proceed at your own risk.

Mounting:
The canopy is mounted on the frame backwards - what was the front of the frame (where the titanium cage was mounted), is now the back.
You will also need to reuse the original back standoffs and move them to the "new back". For them to fit there, you will need to dremel out the protrusions in the slots at the "old front" where the titanium standoffs were mounted.
For securing the canopy to the frame, you will need 6 M3 screws and 4 nuts.
