Description
Here are a few mods for the BNB SX extruder.
Revised lower clamp with cable support – This is designed to prevent binding when the extruder is on the right hand side. The normal Bear/BNBSX extruder has its cable support connected beneath the bearing. This means that when the extruder is on the far right, the cable loom can twist the bottom of the extruder. This may not be obvious with LM8 bearings, but is very obvious with bushings. This new lower clamp includes a full cable support. By including it in the back cover, the stress from the cable loom is distributed across the extruder, particularly focussed in the middle between the bearings. It is also easier to remove (though does require cutting zip ties), as the entire clamp and wiring loom support comes off together. Print front down. It needs some support from the bed when printing.
A revised fan shroud. This shroud works exactly the same as the default E3D V6 fan shroud in the BNBSX extruder, but has had the side ducts spread slightly so there's 1–2 mm clearance from the V6 sock/heatblock.
Revised clamps with a full channel for the sensor cable. At full height, the cable has to be completely within the clamps or it will tangle with the MMU/spool holder leg.
Buff washer - These are for the extruder motor. You can use these so that you don't need to have metal washers. Instead you can print your washers in the same material as your extruder, for a bit of extra bling. :D
Rivnut coupler. I use this in place of the Festo connectors. Rivnuts don't wear out over time, or chew up your PTFE tubes.
