Description

I have been looking for a easy option to panel mount a micro USB socket, usually for powering small items such as USB led strips and the like. I found it surprising that they were uncommon.

I did find that Micro USB breakout boards were cheap and easy to find so I made this mount for them.

The hole required is 17mm and the screw spacing is 24mm center to center. This model is designed for a 3mm wall thickness as Im using acrylic sheet. I have included some original files so hopefully you can make changes as needed.I know 17mm is an odd size but it was needed for my project and I used a laser cutter so it didn't matter.

This is designed around this USB breakout board, This is a local supplier to me but you can find them on ebay.

Use 2x m2x5 bolts for the PCB mount and 2x m3 bolts to attach to the pane from the front.
These should both thread in to the print but a m3 nut could also be added.
