UPDATE 1/28/20

I've updated the lower with larger air paths and a little beefier walls. I also added an alternate upper with a bowden tube support clamp for the Microswiss hot end. I had noticed with all the moving while printing that the collet that holds on to the tube would cut in to it and become loose over time. So this added clamp support reduces the strain on that attachment point. It uses a M5 x 10mm bolt. The part is modeled with the thread so it should go right in and be snug. Just be sure not to over tighten it. It's just for support not to clamp tight.

ORIGINAL POST

I did't really care for any of the cooling mods i could find on here. They seemed to either require fan replacements, moving the touch sensor and changing offsets, or both. This unit uses stock fans and for sure works with a BLTouch sensor. It probably won't work with the stock sensor, but i haven't checked. It also re-uses the stock M3 bolts, although you will need a few extra pieces.

*****One thing of note. I run a Microswiss all metal hot end and this was designed around that. But it should work with the stock as well. There isn't really that big of a difference in overall size.

Weight reduction was huge. The stock parts that were removed weighed in at about 80 grams. The new parts were only about 20 grams. Almost a 75% reduction.

Print as models are oriented. Support to built plate only. I did put support blockers for most of the lower unit overhang where the blower fan mounts. It's a 45 degree angle and doesn't require it. I also put one on the front overhang just below the cool end fan mounting location for the same reason. The Upper and Side units I printed at .2 layer height and 100% infill. Print time wasn't that much different anyway plus I thought it would be stiffer and stronger. The Lower unit I did at 20% with the finer layer height of .16 since it has a lot of overhangs and the nozzles have a fine details.

Extra Material List
2 = M3 x 16mm bolts
2 = M3 x 14mm Bolts
2 = M3 Nuts

The lower piece bolts to the bottom of the cool end fan using 2 M3 x 14mm bolts. I sized the holes in the lower piece so the bolts thread right into it the ABS without tapping. Do this first as you won't be able to get to these bolts once the rest is assembled.

The blower fan re-uses the 3 stock bolts for mounting into the lower unit. One of these bolts was longer then the other two so be sure to use this one on one of the upper holes so it doesn't interfere with the side support bracket.

The Upper piece uses the same stock M3 bolt from the metal housing to bolt to the red carriage plate. You will have to remove the filament tube to install it. You will need 2 M3 x 16mm bolts with nuts to bolt the cool end fan to the upper piece.

The side support uses the left over bolts from removing the cool end fan from the metal housing and threads right into the ABS just like the two lower holes from the cool end fan to the lower unit.
