Rotrex C38R and C38-81 Centrifugal Supercharger

This Model is the C38R version which is the largest that Rotrex makes but uses the same gear body as the regular C38-81 (the impeller housing is slightly smaller and included to allow you to mock up a regular C38-81 unit, the pulley body is also different on the C38-81)

I had initially planned to use a Vortech or similar centrifugal geared supercharger for one of my builds however the Vortech is a massive unit. The Rotrex is a smaller unit for the same if not more horsepower capability due to the fact that it is not speed limited to the angular velocity (pitch line velocity... Windage Losses..etc) issues of a high speed gear drive centrifugal supercharger like the Vortech. The Rotrex uses a friction fit style planetary "ratio box" no gears, to provide a RPM multiplication ratio effect to drive the impeller up to 90,000rpm's. Something not possible in gear drive chargers that tend to top out at around 50-60K RPM. The higher speed allows the unit to have a smaller body diameter for the same CFM output. Which in turn lets me fit it where i wanted it on my project. lol Smaller Rotrex superchargers can reach speeds of 200,000 impeller RPM

Im sure this will be of many help to any fab or prototyping project, one thing to note. The Rotrex is very sensitive to proper installation, it is always advised to understand completely the input/output RPM limitations, oil feed requirements and system design requirements when using specialized superchargers like the Rotrex, higher rpm's require much more critical system attributes. Rotrex has a design handbook that is highly recommended that it be looked thru for custom applications.
