Description
This is a 3D printed 45 degree wye, generally compatible with 1.5" PVC, for a tower hydroponics setup.
Currently I'm only publishing a 4" section with one planter, and the intent is that you stack as many of these as you want and the tower goes against a wall. The ID/OD at the top is the OD of 1.5" PVC, and the OD at the bottom should slide into a 1.5" PVC or another of this section, it's currently a zero tolerance fit.
Background: I'm attempting to build the type of hydroponic tower that Joe Neumayer shows off on his YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0VW6dHufMsuiD05Mkd6tQQ) but I want to angle my planter outlets in different directions (Joe can't due to the way the water falls on his PVC setup), tightening up on spacing by alternating left/right along the tower and also just to save money over the expensive wyes. More planting sites, less $ less towers.
As of 1/5/20, this is DEFINITELY a work in progress, I will be printing out samples over the next month and test fitting.
I do recommend printing these in a dark plastic and painting gloss white on the exposed surfaces only, to inhibit algae.
