Mini SAS SFF-8087 to External 8088 Adapter Enclosure

This is a bracket and enclosure that holds an Mini SAS (internal) SFF-8087 to (external) SFF-8088 pass through adapter. I used this on an DAS (direct attached storage) I created within an IKEA cabinet.

This allows you to run a SFF-8088 cable from a HBA card on a server or PC to an external DAS enclosure. From the adapter (internally) you can run SFF-8087 breakout cables to the SATA/SAS disk or disk enclosure. Power is also needed. With this adapter you can connect up to 8 hard drives.

This enclosure protects the solder pads on the PCB and is made to mount in the rear of a cabinet so the SFF-8088 ports pass through the rear panel of the cabinet. (see photo)

M3 Threaded inserts were used. HOWEVER, this was printed a while ago so please check the dimensions yourself prior to purchasing hardware.

3M VHB tape was used for mounting.
