Description

We are 17 pupils who attend the 8G class of the Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-School in Kassel (Germany). In our maths class we dealt with linear functions. Each pupil created an individual star inside a coordinate system on a sheet of paper. Afterwards, we learnt how to set up the functional equations to describe each star. Using these functions, the stars were then redrawn using the application „desmos“. These stars were then transformed into files for 3d-printing. Thanks to funding provided by the VDI, our school was able to buy a 3d-printer and we were able to watch with enthusiasm as our stars were being printed.
