This is my D-O Droid from Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker. (Work In Progress! The head is not finished and is currently missing. Once complete I will add STEP files) 30/11/21 Added new XL330 brackets for neck and head. Many people ask if I have a patreon, I don't because I feel my projects can only happen as and when I have time.. however, If you feel the need to contribute to these projects and keep me motivated, then you can tip me via my thingiverse account. Thanks! Based on Michael Baddeley's CAD designs! D-O is the new droid on the block in the Star Wars universe and I thought it would be fun to build one. Michael already had a design available that he kindly sent to me, but I'm making a few tweaks of my own, including upgraded servos, drive system and electronics! Included here are the STL files for each sub assembly. Also there are 3D PDF files so that you can see how the assembly goes together. Its worth taking a look at the full 3D PDF assembly file first to familiarize yourself with the assembly. You can hide components within Adobe viewer to make the assembly easier to understand. I have printed most of this design in PolyMaker PLA and for the mechanical components in PolyMaker PLA Plus. The tyre is a tricky part to print and has been printed in PolyMaker PolyFlex using a MOARStruder on my Taz 6. The Green drive wheels were printed in NinjaFlex Cheetah material. There is one mechanical part that I am currently testing in SLS nylon print as it seems to require great mechanical strength, and I have not achieved this using FFF technology.. I will report back.
