Description
Introducing the latest in easy-to-print med-tech designs from The Printsmith, the HygieneHelper!
This tool allows doctors, nurses, and any germophobes to navigate a hospital without having to touch door handles, light switches, or elevator buttons!
The hook is curved to grip the most popular door handles in Canadian hospitals, the 19mm-dia u-handle. The knob on the front fits inside 20mm recessed elevator buttons, and the loop at the back makes it keyring-compatible.
For plenty of strength, I print these out of PETG with 4 layers all around and 15% honeycomb infill. With a 0.5 mm nozzle, 0.28 mm layer height, and 55 mm/s print speed, it takes just over a half hour to print one of these.
But wait, there's more! If you print a HygieneHelper in PETG with those settings, it will survive 6 minutes in boiling water before softening! That's not exactly autoclave-ready, but it's better than wiping in on your pants!
Print one for yourself and your family members, and never touch a dubious doorhandle, a suspicious lightswitch, or a questionable button ever again! Or, do what I did and show up with a box of them for your local ER team.
Enjoy!
