Description

For maks intended to protect the wearer, good seal and better filter material is needed. Basic cotton masks mostly just keep the wearer from spewing droplets, preventing germs from getting out. But easily available materials that can block significant virus sized particles to give some protection to the wearer can be hard to breathe through.

These are revised "Montana Masks", modified to have larger loops for attaching bands and to provide more nose room. Mine are printed with TPE near the face to provide a flexible seal without using gasket, but with PLA for much fast printing. Montana Masks were designed to use filter squares cut from N95 materal, which is reserved now for medical workers.

New type frames were designed to give more surface area for when using filter like the 'blue shop towel', medical wrap, or layered quilter's cotton, or HEPA filters.

Masks can only be as effective as the seal and the filter used, so these parts should be scaled to fit the face of the wearer. And of course, any use of this or any other homemade mask is done ENTIRELY at responsibility of the wearer and fabricator. (I'm just a 3D print guy, not medically trained!). These designs have no official medical approval, so use only at your own risk.

Scaling for several women has been 85%x 85%y 100%z. For me (and another male), scaling 92%x 105%y 105%z seems to seal best.
