Description

I love my TrackIR5, but the monitor mount/clip provided does not work well with my rather fat ASUS gaming monitor. This is a more general purpose mount for monitors not compatible with the provided mounting clip.

In addition to the printed parts, you will need:
3 x #6 x 20mm screws
3 x #6 nuts
1 x 50mm x 70mm velcro tape or double sided tape strip

Print two copies of new_arm.stl, one copy of the other parts.

First glue new_clipadaptor.stl to TrackIr5Clip.stl. Then screw the two arms together, and then to the base and TrackIR clip. Last step is to attach the tape to the base, and attach the whole shebang to the monitor.

See the photos for assembly. I prefer velcro tape as it will let me remove the arm later if I need.

Finally, clip in your TrackIR5 to the arm - it should be snug enough to hold it without any tape or anything else, but you need to clip it in upside down (see photos). This is not a problem - in your TrackIR5 software just pick the camera rotation to 180 degrees (see attached screenshot).

If your monitor is different to mine, you may need to design/modify new_base.stl, but all the other bit should be the same. To give you added length or flexibility, print additional copies of new_arm.stl as needed.
