Raspberry Pi 4 case

{UPDATE 19/06/24} I have added some photos of another version of this case in grey. If there is some support for this I will upload the the files as a separate project. It really wants adjusting to a RPI5 and I am considering a version with diy wired, built in keyboard. Let me know if that would be wanted. Would it be worth a community page on Facebook or somewhere so we could make this a colab project?

Here I give you my raspberry Pi4 case / Retro computer case. It can be printed in 2 pieces (top and bottom) on a cr-10 or equivalent or 4 pieces on a bed that is 220x220 or above. All the files are attached.

It uses the Royal Kludge keyboard RK61 (both USB wired and Bluetooth. In the UK you can get it for about 35 pounds. The yellow led with the brown switches is best in my opinion to get the retro feel. You will need to unscrew it from it's case and screw it to the base of the computer case (can use the same screws) be careful removing the lithium battery! I used custom keycaps on this keyboard.

The screws that hold the upper and lower halves together are pan head self tapping 18mm M2. you will need 8

The file USB Clip is what holds the usb extension cable in place, you will need two. It's simple and it works well.

The screws that hold the Pi in place are (if i am not mistaken) M2x4mm x 4

you will also need :
1x Short 12cm Black USB2 EXTENSION Male to Female Cable
1x Short micro Usb to Usb 2 male data cable (if you see a charging cable make sure it supports data too) for the keyboard
1x 20cm USB 3.0 Extension Cable USB Male to Female Extender Data Lead
1x USB 3.0 to SATA Hard Drive Enclosure Caddy Case For 2.5" Inch HDD / SSD External
(don't use a HDD with this as it will probably draw too much power, just use a SSD) you will only use the circuit board in this which will come out easily enough with a little cajoling.

I used 2 part epoxy resin to glue the case together (left and right parts) you may know better though.

The case was designed with Tinkercad But i think I both found my design limitations and the limitations of Tintercad with this one as it often failed or filled the holes in etc.

Also the Pi is clocked to 2GHz and is 4gb ram.
It is fast for a pi but that mainly comes from the SSD (guides for booting from SSD are readily found by searching)

BTW this thing is not a work in progress but I might add more links to the instructions.
