Description
Here is a package i threw together for covid19 front line workers, including cashiers and other workers. If you visit my research blog, you will find the videos on how i designed them.

The visor shouldn't take more than 40 minutes to print with 16% infil. the mask prints in 2.5 hours. Please slow the print down to 30mms for layers 15-30 of the mask. Other than that, print at 75mms. 2 walls, 2 top and bottom layers. There are two different versions of the mask, one with a smaller breathing section, and one with a larger breathing section. The mask with the larger breathing section, just wrap the filter around the outside and place the holding cap over said filter. Be sure to use non fiberglass materials. The best choice is spun polypropylene. The 3m advanced filtrate 1500 furnace filters are this exact material. DO not get the filter wet, since it is statically charged, to help aid in capturing small particles.
The face shield visor follows NIH approved guidelines. It can be printed from PLA or petg with no issues. PLA can be sanitized with rubbing alcohol, hot soapy water, and or bleach water. However, rubbing alcohol is best. It has the lowest surface tension meaning it can get into spaces smaller than viruses. In fact, IPA is required to be used in facilities that make filters that filter viruses out of the blood. Pla, once printed with a properly calibrated printer, has very low porosity. I have used digital microscopes to test this theory, but this is for another topic of discussion later.
The face shield uses a standard USA 3 hole punch to make the holes to snap onto the visor. I use non latex #64 rubber bands to hold it around the head. I use PVC clear binder/page covers. I purchase them off of amazon or from my local print shop.
Both masks use the same filter clip. The clip has all ready been scaled down to fit loosely when no filter material is being used. As far as the filter material is concerned, 3M filtrete home furnace filters, 1900 or higher, have been used for the mask. The filters are made from 100% spun polypropylene that has been electrostatically charged. This makes them act like a magnet to hang onto viruses, or other debris better. The beauty of polypropylene, it doesnt swell when moister gets on it, this is why it is used for N95 masks. You can bake the filter material at 170F for 20 minutes to sanitize it. Make sure no water is present in your oven or it will ruin the static charge.
The mask with the grid on it, the center hole is large enough for a pen or pencil to push out the clip. Most doctors and nurses carry a pen on the person.
I do not guarantee that the masks or shields will prevent covid19 or any other type of coronavirus.
