Made the super fun Grand Inquisitor lightsaber by CaseStudyno8 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1945665) and wanted to share the modified parts I used to make it easier. I preferred the discs to print laying down, but that way there was no good flat angle so I split them into top and bottom halves and added pegs to connect them. The split discs only need a little support along the edges, and printing them flat this way they come out nice and circular. You just need a large enough print bed. You might need to flip a couple of them over in your slicer to put the flat side down.
Next I wanted to print the outer grip with supports to stabilize the tall thin columns, otherwise they tend to wobble high up and scar the print. To avoid too much support used, I flipped the outer grip upside down but the peg was there so I split that off and it is now added later, printed separately. I used grid style supports which worked very well and popped easily out of the cutouts. Print with closed side down.
For some reason I put a groove around the outer rotator to loosely align with the groove that runs around the outer discs. I guess I thought it would look like its ready to break loose at that line and spin away. Totally not necessary for anything but sharing it anyway. Use supports.
Hope these mods help if anyone needs them.
