Description
My N95 mask, which I bought a year or two ago for an attic project, has seen better days. Recently, I was wearing it while shopping and the lower strap snapped. I had some elastic already, but reconnecting it with thin household staples did not seem to be a workable solution. This small strap holder replaced the original staples that held the mask's rubber straps. The elastic used is 1/4" (6.3mm) wide and 3/64" (.8mm) thick. I used a bit of medium CA glue to fill in the holes left by the original staples. The screws are M3x6 and the slightly undersized holes for them were made in the middle between the original staple marks. The washers have an outside diameter of about 8mm. Note: I was initially concerned that the bolts on the inside of the mask would press against my face, but it seems that the clearance is fine.
