Description
NOTE: THIS THING IS BEING SOLD ILLEGALLY AND WITHOUT PERMISSION ON ETSY. THAT SELLER ("DragonflyDron") HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND HE REFUSES TO CEASE. ETSY PLACES SUCH AN UNREASONABLE BURDEN ON SOMEONE LIKE ME THAT IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ETSY TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST A VIOLATING SELLER. IF YOU WANT, SUPPORT MY WORK BY BOYCOTTING THAT SELLER AND LETTING HIM KNOW YOU ARE DOING SO.
I did a very detailed engineering exploration of making a perfect hook to exactly match the remote of the Dji Mini 2 / Mavic Air 2 in order to attach the iPad Mini (I have a iPad Mini 4 and an iPad Mini 5, so those are what I used for sizing). This thing actually does "clip" onto the remote and stay in place by itself. The length of the hook causes the right amount of spring-loaded extension of the remote stem - enough tension to hold the iPad firmly in place without over-stretching the springs. The hook is easy-on, easy-off and it stores away anywhere.
I had to do about five iterations, with each test print exposing the need for further modifications. It was a fun project.
I printed at 0.1mm layer height with no supports. I did not have to use a brim to make it stick to the bed.
