Vaccum Flex Hose Through Bulkhead Coupler/Adapter (2.5" Hose, 2.125" Through Hole)

I needed to build a cart for my Ridgid shop-vac, and my Rockler Dust Right Dust Separator that would quiet down the vacuum. I decided on an over under design with the vacuum hidden in the bottom leaving the separator easy to get at for dust removal. I used a simple cabinet design 18"x18" interior dimensions for floor and shelf and constructed the box out of 3/4" plywood (.70"). Thus the need for the parts you see here.

The "Nut" and "Through-Hole" Pieces are meant to pass through 3/4" ply and be used as a coupler for 2.5" flex hose. The largest Forstner bit I had in my Harbor Freight kit was 2-1/8" so thats the outer diameter of the through hole piece. Both pieces have a thread on the for holding the hose.

Turns out my threaded end size was a bit conservative so the clamps are really nice to have.

Also included an exhaust port screen (2.125" hole) to allow the vacuum to pump air out of the cart. I used electrical tape to build up the outside some to give this a snug fit. Not really worth adjusting part and reprinting.

In the near future ill be using rubber window stripping between the door and box to further seal in the sound some. It's surprisingly much quieter, even with the exhaust hole.
