This is Hooky

the funny, helpful multifunctional snake hook

I designed it for multiple use cases for my Ford Nugget Fiamma F45s awning, where it does a great job. It fits in the 7 mm Keder rail and locks itself under load. It is very strong but the thin walls on the holes allow it to break under extreme conditions to avoid damage to the awning.

Of course, as a hook, it holds bags, clothing, towels, lights. Different holes allow other functionalities at the same time, such as additional support for the awning on strong winds (see photo above). You can even "lock" the hook through the eye and one of the holes with some cord or a cable tie.

Models:

• Hooky 7mm Fiamma: Fits the Fiamma F45s awning on Ford Nugget. Maybe some Thule models. Easy fit and lock in 7mm rails.
• Hooky 10mm Caravan Vertical: Slightly modified version for friend's caravan with 10mm rail.

Miscellaneous:

I'll later add my FreeCAD file so you can adapt it to your angles and rail sizes. You can also share a picture of your rail and I'll try to add different models.

Feel free to comment or remix the design but don't violate the license. I take so much from the community for free (knowledge, tips, designs) and this is my part of giving something back. Of course you can print it for your friends and family and have them cover your expenses!

Printing Tips:

Infill does not really matter, but you should slice with at least 4-5 perimiters for strength. If your slicer supports it, you can start with outer perimiters first, so the small extusions between the holes have something to hold on.

• transform X/Y dimensions proportionally if the hook should not fit perfectly

• transform Z dimension between 5-10mm to save material or do test prints. 8mm is still strong enough.
