*Update April 28, 2021: New low profile design fits perfectly with the brake controller (picture added)
*Update April 24, 2021: I'm going to be installing a Mopar brake controller in the panel behind the switches, so I needed to create a low profile version and remove 3 of the switches so that this wouldn't interfere. The picture printed with grey PETG shows the low profile. (picture added)
*Update March 31, 2021: Uploaded v2 of the tray/insert (blank still fine). Very minor changes. Made the tray a little thicker and the bottom part of the insert catches the tray much better now. Printed in silver PETG (240c/80c).
*Update July 23, 2020: The PETG worked out and there's been no melting, despite the PETG I used printing at the same temperature as PLA.
*Update July 14, 2020: PLA was a bad idea in the summer since we had some 38C (100F) weather and while the panel still worked, it warped/melted (kind of a Salvador Dali thing). Re-printed in PETG and will report accordingly.
This is a console to hold 6 standard toggle switches that can be found in places like eBay to control lighting or whatever. The ones I ordered were from eBay:
I made this for a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Warlock edition, but will likely fit many others. The idea was to have the switches within easy reach, require no modifications to the console and be easily removed without a trace if necessary.
It sits in the little space under the climate controls (see pic) and is a (very light) pressure fit. It relies on the rubber molded 'cup' that sits in the space to hold it in place. Wires are easily run to it and if connectors are used, can easily be removed without effort. Running the wires requires only removing 3 screws to lift out the center console.
Printed it in PLA, but considering a reprint to PETG if the summer heat becomes an issue (will advise). Blank model is included to cover up any holes that are unused.
