WORK IN PROGRESS
UPDATE 3/18/2024
After Covid summer when I worked on this project, I didn't have much time to revisit and improve the design. This gathered much more popularity than expected, and it seems the best way to support is to share the CAD files I used, so I have attached the fusion 360 assembly file.
Original Summary
I am trying to gauge overall interest in this design before I finish on more revisions including the following:
-Slimming the form factor to fit modern day drone components (esc board / fc stack (f4/f7 maybe)
-Better vtx antenna mount
-Adjustable camera mount for micro / nano sized fpv cameras
-Possible camera gimbal / attachment
-Camera board mount for split board / video recording
-Wire covers to hide motor wires in the arms
-Internal battery storage (so the battery doesnt have to strap on top)
If this design sparks enough interest, I will continue developing features for various types of setups / electronics.
This quadcopter was inspired from the DJI Mavic Mini. It is roughly the same size and shape, but changed to fit the components that I, and many other drone makers use. A lot of folding drones on this website don't have the most well designed folding mechanisms, so this one was designed to be rugged and durable.
This can be set up to be either a camera / cinematography drone, or for freestyling / general FPV flying.
Parts (I will update with bolt lengths and quantities):
-various M3 bolts
-2x M5 bolts
-4x springs

My Setup
-4x Turnigy multistar baby beast v2 2205kv motors
-4x HobbyKing blue 12A ESC
-1x Naze32 Acro with external BMP280 barometer stacked on the PDB
-Turnigy 9x receiver
-Boscam TS351 200 MW Transmitter (50 grams!!)
-Some CCTV camera
-1300 mah 3s lipo
-1x 30x30 power distribution board
My setup weighs roughly 450 grams without the battery, but I have a lot of old, bulky components. Updated electronics could achieve <300-350 grams.
