Files included:

There are a number of files included to provide printing options. If in doubt, print both of the "standard model" files - 1 of the ship itself and 4 of the turrets. This will give you the full ship.

The "easy print" options are provided for anyone having trouble printing the standard models.

The "front" and "back" files are the standard model ship pre-split for small SLA printers such as the original Anycubic Photon.

Extra strong turrets are an option for people who find their ship turrets breaking - particularly useful for those gaming with youngsters.

HMS Queen Mary

This model has been released as a free sample for Broadside: Empires of Steel, a new naval wargame set during WW1. It is now live on Kickstarter at:

HMS Queen Mary was one of the ā€œSplendid Catsā€ – a colloquial term that included the Lion class battlecruisers. Queen Mary was a development of the Lion class, and was extremely similar to those vessels.

She was armed with eight 13.5ā€ guns and, along with the Lions, was substantially better protected than the Invincible and Indefatigable classes that had come before. She was already in service at the start of WW1.

Queen Mary missed the Battle of Dogger Bank because she was refitting, but was present for the Battle of Jutland. She did manage to strike SMS Derfflinger with her guns, disabling one of the German battlecruiser’s secondary weapons. Derfflinger’s return fire had devastating effect however, with Queen Mary receiving two hits that caused her magazine to explode, sinking her.

18 of Queen Mary’s crew survived, but 1266 did not. She remains on the bottom of the North Sea to this day. Her wreck was discovered in 1991.
