Rubberband Gun

Hello. This is a remix of Gavilan's excellent design. I made the gun quite a bit larger for adults, fixed the trigger, so it releases rubberbands flawlessly (Gavilan's design would catch), added a pocket in the grip for extra rubberbands, extended the barrel to shoot Alliance Rubber 54325 Advantage Rubber Bands Size #32, and made the barrel with a sight on it. The rubberband connecting the trigger is the same size. I also added hardware to keep the wheel centered and solid, and the trigger easier to install among other fixes. I hope you enjoy!

Assembly instructions:

The sheet metal screws attach the handles to the barrel and the handles to the handle support piece.

The tee nut screws go with the large side towards the wheel (indents in the wheel should fit the large side of tee nuts perfectly), otherwise the rubberbands will get pinched between the tee nuts when loading the gun. The tee nuts need to be tighted to the outside, away from the wheel in order to allow the wheel to spin freely.

The pan head bolts are the axle bolts for the trigger and the wheel.

The washers I used on the pan head bolts, trigger (1 outside), wheel (1 outside) and (2 inside opposite of the wheel on both sides, just on the inside of the handles).

The stop nuts go on the other end of the pan head bolts, no washers necessary.

Rubberband loading and shooting:

You can load the gun anyway you like. I found it easier to load starting at the wheel end (holding your thumb on the rubberband on the wheel cog) and then stretching the other end of the rubberband to the end of the barrel. This way the rubberband stretches in between the two prong sight on the barrel (not outside the prongs). Then rotate the wheel backward until in clicks and load another rubberband. When ready to shoot, continuously pull the trigger to release the rubberbands. Its a semi-automatic. It holds six rubberbands.
