Clamping Block for CNC 3018
I made these clamps for my new small CNC machine 3018, they can also fit other profile tables and not only. For example, many people use a "sacrificial table" over a profile one, in which either threaded holes are created, or threaded inserts into them, etc. But I presented an option for a groove ... And all that needs to be chosen for the compatibility of other profile tables is a T-Nut. For this machine, the profile groove is similar to the 40x40 machine profile. T-Nuts for this profile come in different threads, but I chose M4. Also, for the convenience of installing the clamps, I fix the threaded nuts with epoxy resin. Of course, there are T-Bolts, but I have not seen such a size under the M4, or I was looking badly ...
The clamps are double-sided, as you can see in the photo, they can be used for different workpiece heights.
And a few words about the machine 3018 itself ... A few weeks ago I was going to build a similar machine from the available components, but some still needed to be ordered, and I also looked at this particular model in order to buy and modify. After all, creating from scratch usually costs more than buying a ready-made one (from personal experience), but as a result you get what you want. And as soon as I was about to order spare parts, I suddenly received a letter from
Banggood with a proposal for cooperation, and the most interesting thing was that it was about CNC. As a result of negotiations, I was asked to choose a machine for my hobby in a certain price range and we agreed on this model, for which I am very grateful to them. Also, there was no talk about laudatory trills on the topic of how beautiful the machine is and so on. We discussed this issue in detail, realizing that in the struggle for the market, manufacturers are trying to make products the most competitive in the price range and at the same time they have to use the most inexpensive components. Nevertheless, this model suits me perfectly for my tasks, and perhaps with some technical amendments, which I will introduce a little later and you can see it. At the moment, I have a lot of modernization and accessories in my plans ... At this stage, I have just assembled it and made the first accessory which I am sharing with you.
And if the assembly process is interesting, as well as the process at work, as they say "the first shavings" - wellcome to the video, where at the end of the video and the clamps themselves are viewed
