Description

I accidentally bought a 52Pi Low Profile Ice Tower when buying parts for a different 52Pi Ice Tower case. I realized it would go well in a tower case for the Raspberry Pi 4, and I could run air vertically through the tower with a 40mm fan on top. With two sides there's room for a SSD drive on one side, inside the case and partially cooled by the fan on top. The vent on the other side is placed for the 52Pi low profile ice tower.

All ports are accessible on the back or bottom of the case. One USB3.0 port is used up by the SSD drive if you use one. GPIO pins are blocked off unless you use the "pi-case-gpio" variant stl file. The fans require the use of both 5v GPIO pins and two Ground pins, ideally the two Gnd pins closest to the 5v pins.

Print either the pi-case or the pi-case-gpio, you do not need both.

The screws required to connect the case together are M3 or Imperial #4. Imperial #6 is also very close to the hole size.

I had to coil up the USB3.0-SATA cable a little to make it fit, this is the one I used:

I've been using BerryBoot to boot my Pis off SSD, though I hear tell you can skip the microSD card now. The MicroSD card slot should be easily accessible through the 40mm fan slot on top.

P.S. Ignore the shabby look of some of the side holes in the photographs. I don't like throwing away finished work with errors if I can fix it with tools. The side holes for the SSD mount were corrected on the pictured unit with a drill, but the side holes in the design have been corrected in the STL you will be printing.
