Description

We have used these little magnetic shopping lists in the house for years but there is always two failings. The little loop that holds the pen/pencil to side comes off or the cardboard backing (which holds the magnet bit) falls off.

Now that I have a 3D printer I had the brilliant idea to create my own little holder to hold the whole pad as well as provide a much easier place to put the pen.

I've left a provision for four neodymium magnets to be recessed in the back or you can use magnetic tape or just double sided tape if you don't want it to come off.

(I might come back up update this design with provision for larger (or more) magnets as the four x 8mm ones work, but could be a little stronger).

In Australia, you can get these magnets at Bunnings:

8mm Magnets:

25mm tape:

If you want to remix this, there is the tinkercad link to get you started:

Version 2.5:
Based on some feedback I've updated the design to include curved edges as well as slimming the whole thing down a little and changing the magnetic mounting to accommodate 25mm magnetic tape. This still prints with no supports on my Ender 3v2.

The new Tinkercard file if anyone wants to play from here:

I get the notepads from Kmart, they are 209mm x 98mm.

Australia:

New Zealand:

SKU : P_42845768

For those in the US, I had a quick look at Walmart shows a couple of options, the closest being this one at 4" x 8":

Otherwise, it should be easy enough to modify the design to suit whatever you can get locally to you.
