This is a HO scale model of a 60 foot sellers turntable as used on the NSW railways.

It has been designed to print on an FDM printer with a 200x200 bed in PLA.

Post-Printing

Assembly - the girders and bridge.

            <div><p>The part labelled "centre peg" is designed to fit between the girder assembly and the timber deck. It may need filing to fit. It assists in keeping the to parts centred.</p><p>The girders and deck also have locater holes at near each end. A small pin can be inserted to keep the parts centred whilst gluing. </p><p>The wheels are fixed to the girt box housings at each end of the girder assembly with small wire axles. The wheels may need some smoothing before they can roll.</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>assembly - pivot head.</strong></p>            <div><p>The model is designed for a 6mm brass tube shaft. To assist in keeping the bridge assembly centred and still able to pivot I have used a small "plug" to fit the top of the shaft. A pin is inserted through the centre box of the bridge and through the pivot head. The pin can be trimmed and hidden before painting.</p><p>The 6mm tube was utilised as it fits neatly over a 5mm stepper motor shaft.</p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>assembly - pit</strong></p>            <div><p>The pit is printed in 5 main parts.</p><p>1x centre disc (pit 1)<br>2x pit halves (pit 2)<br>2x ring rail</p><p>The assembly is straight forward but some sanding may be necessary before gluing.<br>The hole is designed for a short piece of 7mm brass tube. This forms a smooth bearing when the 6mm shaft is slotted through.</p></div>
